SURROUNDED BY NATURE MAKES ME CLOSER TO GOD.
This morning, walking on the Spillway Trail with Cubby, I remembered my Thankful List. I've been too busy this past year--too busy organized my life again after moving to Hot Springs Village--and I've neglected my daily Thankful List. But...it's never too late to start over and that's what I'm doing:
Today, I'm Thankful:
1---for tears. Tears are my release valve, equalizing the pressure from sadness, joy, anger and, sometimes, frustration. Invariably, I visualize my grandmother's pressure cooker. As the pot boiled, there was a valve on top that continued to release steam so the cooker wouldn't explode. My tears work the same way. They flow freely so... I don't explode.
2---for the smell of baby powder. All the perfumes in the world can't calm my senses like the subtle, sweet scent of tried-and-true Johnson's Baby Powder. It smells peaceful and clean....like a baby.
3---for hope. I thrive on great expectations, on hoping that bad will evolve into good; that nothing will soon become something. Without hope.....we would all be just like Doris Day, singing "Que Sera, Sera"...."whatever will be will be"....
4---for my Angels. Not just the ones with wings but the everyday angels who move around me day after day. Some of my Angels send me texts, emails, messages, cards and letters, and make "wellness calls". I've never met these Angels but....it doesn't matter. I don't have to see those who deliver miracles. I am so blessed to have my many Angels regardless of their age, their size, their gender, or where they live.
5---for God's touch. Yes, God touches me everyday and, because of his touch, I can face the bad and appreciate the good.
Thank you Heavenly Father for never leaving me. Make me more appreciative for the goodness around me. Guide me to help others like so many others have helped and continue to help me.
Dear God, Let Love be my mission.
