ONE LABEL SHOULDN'T APPLY TO ALL---SIMPLY-BECAUSE OF AGE.

WHO OR WHAT GIVES ANYONE THE "RIGHT" TO CALL SENIOR CITIZENS--- "OLD" OR "SENILE" OR "ELDERLY"?  IT'S ONLY BECAUSE WE ARE ALL "OF A CERTAIN AGE" THAT WE ARE LUMPED-TOGETHER--LIKE HOMELESS ANIMALS AT THE CITY POUND.

And—because of our age, our health, and our limited incomes—too- many of us are ignored by Family, Society--- even Government Agencies. The majority of us are forced into stinky/smelly nursing homes, dumped in community/assisted living,  treated simply-like a  number, and-- because of our limited resources, lack of emotional support, and total neglect--- we  eventually "slip away from earth"----unnoticed.

Let's be completely-honest.  SENIOR CITIZENS have no RIGHTS.  Because we are physically-fragile, often limited in speech and hearing---we are too-often bullied, mistreated, and despised--even by our children.  A large inheritance seems to be the only attraction that binds children with an older parent or parents.

SENIORS are possibly the most resented group of Citizens in America. We are viewed as useless, as worthless dependents, as lumps of human waste that have had “our time” and now---should conveniently-die. Politicians only tolerate older people when we vote, donate money or volunteer-- at re-election time. A perfect example of where we "rank" in the list of national importance is measured by the teeny-tiny cost of living increase---seniors receive once a year.  The average amount---at most--- is between one dollar to two dollars more-- each month.

How quickly everyone forgets that most of us worked every day of our lives-- supported our families--and made sure we had time for our families. We were responsible adults and everything we did--we did "from our hearts."

None of us imagined that someday--we'd be treated like excess baggage. Some of us learned---the hard way—that simply- loving our family all those years--was the WORST INVESTMENT we would ever make.

It isn't the process of aging-- growing older-- being alone-- losing our looks--our incomes--our flexibility and independence--- that's the real -----"Kiss of Death."   What truly amounts to a Death Sentence--is the fact that "age" robs us of our personal identity---our unique individuality---and, worst of all---our respect and--- our dignity.
